Located on the southeast coast of Bahrain, the DurratAl Bahrain project covers an area of 20km2 (5km x 4km). Atkins has been appointed to design the master plan and provide complete design consultancy services for this ambitious project as follows:

⋅ Traffic and Transportation Studies
⋅ Highway Engineering
⋅ Land Use and Plot Development
⋅ Utility Load Determination
⋅ Construction Sequencing.
The original masterplan went through significant transformation to create a unique image, maximise the water front and gain access to the site both from land and from the water. Six distinctive elements comprise the development: an arc of six Attols, five Petal Islands, Crescent Islands, 300-600 room Central Hotel, an18-hole Golf course and a 400-boat marina.
